Blackheads are yellowish plugs which reside in the skin pores and clogs them. This condition is medically termed as comedones or open comedo, and it normally occurs on excessively oily skin.
Almost all of us are well acquainted with blackheads, but only some of us may know that the blackhead is also a type of acne vulgaris. Blackheads normally occur when the sebaceous glands of the skin become over active and start producing excessive sebum.
This sebum combines with keratin and gets accumulated in the ducts of the sebaceous glands. The clogged pores appear black in color, but the portion of the blackhead which remains inside the skin is normally yellowish or dark brown in color.
But whatever they are, they always look very tacky and it becomes very difficult to remove the blackheads. A small instrument is normally used to extract the blackheads, but apart from that, there are also many easy home remedies, which can effectively extract the blackheads without any pain and discomfort.
