Home Remedies For Constipation
Raisins are high in fiber and other nutrients and hence are very helpful in relieving constipation. Take a handful of raisins and soak them in a cup of water overnight. Drink this water and chew the raisins slowly as first thing in the morning. Regular use will relieve constipation and will increase your hemoglobin level as well.
It is a very good home remedy for pregnant women but those who experience gestational diabetes should not take them as they are high in sugar also.
Peanuts are a powerhouse of fiber and protein. They work as a gentle laxative and help you in cleaning your bowels. Take 20 raw peanuts. Remember they should not be roasted.
Remove the shell and the skin of the peanuts. Soak them in a cup of water overnight. Eat them as first thing in the morning.
Carom seeds are also very effective in reliving the painful symptoms of constipation like flatulence, indigestion, vomiting, etc. and they also help in cleaning old feces from your bowels. Take a teaspoon of carom seeds and mix two pinches of common salt in it.
Take this as last thing at night with plain water. You will feel an urge to clean your bowels soon in the morning. You can also take this mix in the day time when you feel any kind of digestion problems as it is a very effective remedy for stomach problems.
Lemon peels are also a great remedy against constipation. You need to make a pickle of the lemon peels for making a highly effective home remedy for constipation and digestion problems. Take a glass jar and put a handful of common salt in it. Keep placing all the used lemon peels in this jar.
Don’t forget to place this jar in the sun as you collect lemon peels in the jar. You can occasionally add juice of a couple of lemons to this jar. It will keep the lemon pickle moist. Slowly the peels will begin to soften. Whenever you feel constipated, eat a piece of this pickle at night time with lukewarm water.
Psyllium husk is a herb easily available in grocery store. The seeds of this plant have traditionally been used as a gentle laxative. When taken with warm milk at bed time, psyllium husk works as a laxative whereas when taken with curd it helps in controlling diarrhea.
To regulate bowel movements, take a teaspoon of psyllium husk and mix it in some water. Drink up this water quickly as husk tends to absorb water fast followed by a glass of warm milk at bed time.
