Morning sickness is an inevitable part of pregnancy. In fact, one of the early indicators of pregnancy is morning sickness.

Relieving nausea and / or vomiting during the first trimester of pregnancy, is no easy task. However, the good news is that there are numerous tried and tested home remedies which can ease the symptoms of nausea and / or vomiting during the early stages of pregnancy.
Some effective home remedies to assuage the feeling of nausea and vomiting spells are listed below.
A little known cause for extreme nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy is dehydration.
Women who do not drink enough water are more likely to suffer from nausea and/ or vomiting, than women who make a conscious effort to drink plenty of water. Ideally, a pregnant woman should drink at least twelve glasses of water every single day.
Pregnant women who are reluctant to drink plain water can add a slice of ginger or lemon to their drinking water.
Have Sour Candies
This is an easy and inexpensive home remedy for morning sickness. Sucking a sour candy can ease severe bouts of nausea and vomiting.
Having sour candies can ease the dryness of the mouth by promoting salivation. Sucking sour candies also helps to cloak strong odors which trigger spells of nausea.
Another wonderful way to beat morning sickness is to have small meals at regular intervals. Instead of having three large meals, eat five or six small meals during the day. This way you can curb hunger pangs and the accompanying feeling of nausea.
Drink Raspberry Tea
Drinking raspberry tea is an effective home remedy for morning sickness. In fact, for the last hundred years or more, pregnant women have been strongly recommended to drink raspberry tea to counter the negative effects of nausea. Drinking several cups of raspberry tea can also reduce the chances of miscarriage.
Take Vitamin B6 Supplement
Taking small doses of vitamin B6 can actually alleviate morning sickness. For women who suffer from severe morning sickness doctors generally prescribe taking ten to twenty five milligrams of vitamin B6 at least three times a day.
Indulge in Aromatherapy
Women who suffer from debilitating morning sickness are recommended to inhale essential oils like pure lavender oil or thyme oil. The pleasant fragrance emanating from these oils can counter some of the strong odors which can trigger bouts of morning sickness.
If you don’t have any essential oil at home, then simply squeeze a couple of drops of lemon juice into a handkerchief and smell it every time you feel nauseous.
