skin-changes-in-pregnancyPregnancy is the most amazing, yet most complicated time in a woman’s life. On one hand there is the joy of being a mother, but on the other hand there are the hormone changes that have their impact on the body as well as the mind.

During pregnancy, hormonal changes are very much visible on your skin. Your complexion can change, and you might also have other skin problems, like acne. It is better to be prepared for any skin changes and the first step to that is to keep your skin clean and well moisturized.

If you are having pimples and acne, DO NOT scratch or pop them. That will leave a mark and also spread infection. It is better to consult a doctor regarding your skin condition.

Make sure you exfoliate your skin regularly, but do not scrub. In order to decrease the stress level and increase blood circulation, exercise regularly. One good way of keeping your skin healthy is to drink lots of water. Add a good amount of fresh fruits and vegetables. And it is better to avoid sugar, oily food and carbs.

Do not leave your makeup on. Always clean your skin with a good cleanser. Do not use any oil based cosmetics, as they will make your skin oilier and the result is more acne. Do not forget to apply sunscreen or sun block when you go out. That will protect your skin from the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun and prevent sunburn and sun poison.

To prevent acne you can go for a steam facial. Add a few drops of tea tree oil. Splash cold water on your face after you are done. Garlic is also a good remedy for acne. Cut a clove of garlic, apply it on the affected area and see the wonders. This can get rid of acne overnight.

In case if you hate the smell of garlic, then there are other remedies as well. Apply vinegar on your face with a cotton ball and leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse with cool water.

Follow these simple tips and keep your skin fresh and glowing during pregnancy.
