All About Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is basically inflammation of conjunctiva which is a membrane of eyes. Normally, this problem occurs due to viruses, allergies, bacteria, chemicals and bad health conditions.

Eyes can catch this problem if the bacteria come in contact with the eye lids surface. Conjunctivitis is both, infectious and non infectious. The infectious one occurs because of virus or bacteria.

It is highly contagious. While the non infectious one occurs because of allergies, chemicals and diseases. Also, this eye problem can occur because of trauma or pressure in head.

There are various symptoms of conjunctivitis problem. Since it is an eye problem so eye pain occurs. Then sometimes, swelling, redness in eyes, gritty feeling in eyes, discharge of various fluids of yellow, watery and green color which accumulates over night.

Itching is also one of the common symptoms cause by bacterial conjunctivitis. As for the one caused by allergies, itching, swelling, watery eyes, runny nose and sneezing are common symptoms of it. Symptoms of non infectious conjunctivitis depends.

It may be due to smog because of which itchiness; redness occurs and if it is due to chemical then person may go through pain, itching, burning and blurred vision.

As for the treatment of conjunctivitis, you have to get check up done to get to know if it is bacterial or chemical or any other type of conjunctivitis. Then by getting to know about the type, you must get the required treatment for it immediately.

Use cold water to clean eyes regularly and also do eye exercises to get rid of this problem. Exercising gives relief to the eyes while cold water reduces the pain and burning sensation in the eyes. In regular interval of time, use the prescribed eye drops to reduce the problems.

As for the diet, take loads of fruits except banana. Avoid sugar, spicy and oily food. Have more of cereals and raw vegetables plus boiled vegetables and ban the caffeine, alcohol and smoking to have healthy eyes.

So once you get to know that you have this problem, get it treated and make sure that it does not occur ever again.
