There is infact no particular time to start taking care of your skin. If you take care of your skin, even from your youth, it will ensure that it remains good for a longer time. So do not think you are not old enough to start. This is the time for you to start caring for your skin. Why wait till it is too late?

Watch what you eat

It is very important that you take care about what you eat because whatever you put inside your body is going to show up outside on your skin. There are some healthy foods that you can eat to help your skin look younger and better.

Eat pomegranates to soften your skin

It is simple how they work. Pomegranates are rich in vitamin C, which protects against sun damage that causes wrinkles. According to Debra Jaliman, MD, assistant professor of Dermatology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, NYC, pomegranate seeds contain compounds that help to fight damage causing free radicals and increase your body’s capacity to preserve collagen, which plumps up your skin.
RECIPE: Every week take a cup of pomegranate seeds, apart from the juice.

Blueberries will smoothen your fine lines

These are rich in antioxidants that provide effective protection against free radicals, which damage the skin.
RECIPE: Half a cup per day will ensure your skin firmness.

Eat Kale and Spinach to firm up your skin
These are rich in special phytonutrients that protect against sun damage. Spinach is full of beta-carotene and lutein that are proactive in increasing skin elasticity, says a study in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry.
RECIPE: You can have 3 cups of either Kale or Spinach or a combination of both every week.

Cold water fish will reduce redness
Sardines, salmon and mackerel are omega-3 fatty acid rich. These moisturise and strengthen skin-cell membranes.
RECIPE: 6 six ounce portions per week and no more should work its magic.

Get rid of brown spots with Green Tea

This contains catechins that fight sun damage and antioxidants that fight free radicals.
RECIPE: A cup a day will ensure results in a month.

Eat watermelon, get a dewy complexion

In addiiton to vitamin C, it contains lycopene and potassium. These keep a balance of  nutrients and water in cells.
RECIPE: One or two cups every week and you are on your way to a great complexion.

Olive oil gives a healthy glow to the skin

They are rich in the heart-healthy omega 3s. They improve circulation to give a rosy and supple skin.
RECIPE: A tablespoonful a day will keep you rosy and fine.

The Do’s and Don’ts of anti-aging skin care

Do:
Use an SPF 30 sunscreen every day of the year.
Remember to apply a hydrating masque once in a week.
Have fruits and vegetables like cucumber, watermelon, tomatoes that have a high water content.
Use sunglasses at all times.
Use a satin pillowcase so that you can avoid creases.

Don’t:
Go crazy on at-home chemical peels, use only once a week.
Disturb blemishes.
Use everything and anything available for skin care. Stick to a routine at least for a while.
Shower in too-hot water.
Face the wind barefaced.
