Why does Olive Oil Work?
It is a very well known rule of Chemistry that oil can only be dissolved completely in oil. Therefore, when we massage olive oil on our facial skin, it dissolves all the ‘gunk’ like sweat, makeup and other impurities with it. When you rinse off your face using warm after massaging it with olive oil, it takes all the gunk and impurities along with it. Olive oil is actually a natural lipid and its composition is quite similar to the sebum or natural oil that is found in our body.
Due to this, our skin absorbs olive oil quite easily. It helps in locking in the moisture inside the skin and makes the skin smooth as well as soft. Its also contains antioxidants that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, which are essential for smooth, plump and younger looking skin.
To experience wondrous results on your skin with olive oil, simply massage olive oil on the face as well as neck, then dip a washcloth in warm water and cover your face with it for few minutes, then wipe off. This also helps in utilizing the moisturizing benefits of olive oil along with cleansing it.

However, cleansing the face with olive oil prevents this irritation and dryness as well as acne.
