Your skin can look unhealthy due to a tan, acne, scar, dead skin, dullness and lack of glow or shine. Now we will look at home remedies which help us get rid of the above symptoms and get a shiny and glowing skin.

Tips for Healthy Skin Care

Tan Removal

Tanning is defined as darkening of any area of body due to exposure to sun. Here are the remedies which reduce the darkness thereby helping us get rid of the tanning.

Take two-three teaspoons milk and add few drops of lemon juice into it. Let the mixture remain in this condition for five minutes. Now apply this mixture on your face and neck or any other tanned area of your body. Once it gets dry take a few drops of water on your hand and now rub your face gently in circular position to take off the milk and lemon mixture. You will notice some black particles coming out of your skin as a result of this rubbing. Daily application of this remedy for 3-4 days will help you get rid of tanning and dead skin.

Caution

Do not rub your skin harshly; gentle massage or rubbing should do the trick.

Take two teaspoons of gram flour add a pinch of turmeric powder to it. Add milk or yoghurt to this to make a thin paste. Now apply this mixture on your skin to remove the darkness and get a clear skin. People with dry skin are advised to add few drops of olive oil to this mixture. Take one teaspoon of sandalwood powder and add rose water to it. Now apply this mixture on your face and neck. Wash the same off upon drying.

Scars

Burning or an injury of any kind could leave scar on our skin. Regular application of coconut oil or vitamin E capsule can help us lighten and get rid of scar eventually.

You need to simple break the vitamin E capsule and take the jelly like substance out of it. Now apply this on the scar area you will notice it getting lighten with regular application.

Dead Skin

Dirt, pollution, lack of regular cleansing and exfoliation can contribute to dead skin which is visible inthe form of blackheads and whiteheads. Gentle exfoliation and massage is a must for removal of the dead skin.

To Exfoliate

Take a teaspoon sugar in your hands add few lemon drops or water drops to it now rub this slowly an d gently on your face in circular position. Start with rubbing your cheeks in circular motion followed by your forehead and chin (moving your fingers horizontally on it) and nose by moving your fingers vertically. Regular use will help in removal of dead skin.

Soak one teaspoon oatmeal in some milk for half an hour. Once it gets softened apply this on your face. Take this off from your face upon drying through gentle rubbing or massage as described in the above paragraph. You could also crush one or two almonds or walnuts at home, now add some milk to this and make a thick paste. Now apply this on your face and let it dry. Take the mixture off once it get dried by gentle massage and rubbing.

Soak red lentil in milk overnight. Next morning mash the soaked lentil with hand and add more milk to it to make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your face. Take off upon drying through gentle scrubbing and massage. After applying any of the above mixtures and a good massage you can also take steam on your face. Then try and remove blackheads and whiteheads from the affected areas either through the blackhead removal stick or by rubbing the blackhead area with the corner of a towel.

Glowing and Shining Skin

Take one teaspoon of tomato juice add few drops or half teaspoon lemon juice to it. Apply this on your face and let it dry. Wash this upon drying. Apply regularly for a glowing skin. Take one teaspoon yoghurt and apply this on your face and neck. Let it dry. Remove the same through gentle massage upon drying for a glowing skin. You can also grate a potato and take out its juice. Now apply this juice on your face to add shine to your skin.

Aloevera juice fresh juice taken out from the aloevera leaves can also help get a glowing skin.  Fruit and their juices also lead to a glowing skin. You can mash some piece s of papaya, mango or banana and apply this as a paste on your skin. You can also apply apple or watermelon juice to get a glowing skin.

Acne

People with oily or dry skin are more prone to have acne. There are many reasons behind acne which could be blood or food habit related, stress or emotional turmoil, hormonal changes or weather changes etc. I would personally suggest visiting a dermatologist to identify the correct reasons to get rid of the same. Mild acne problems can get removed by application of mint leaves and by avoiding items which add heat to the body.

Regular application of any of the remedy from the above three buckets will help you get a healthy skin. Be aware that a healthy skin is a reflection of our lifestyle. We can have a healthy skin by having poor eating habits which involves lot of frozen or processed food and poor hydration. You need to inculcate healthy eating habits by adding lot of fresh food and vegetables to your diet, by banning alcohol and smoking and drinking lot of water. Add some exercise to all this and that leads to a vibrant and healthy you.
