Curly Hair – How to Tame Those Unruly Locks

I always wanted to have curls, but I often see my friends with curls complain about their hair. I have got to agree with them, curls can be a hassle sometimes. So how do you manage them?

One easy way out is to straighten your hair, but that is temporary. Eventually the curls will come back. Then what? What you need are tips on how to take care of your curls. If you know how to manage them, you will not see them as such a trouble. After all, all curls need is some extra care.

One of the ways to keep your curls nice is to wash them. Shampoo your hair every three days. When you are not using shampoo, just wet the hair and apply a good conditioner. Some believe, just because they have curls, they need to wash it every day. It is not necessary.

Curly hair tends to be drier. This is why it is important that you apply a leave on conditioner as well. That will prevent the dryness. Just in case you do not have a leave on conditioner, apply a few drops of oil on wet hair. That will prevent the hair from getting frizzy.

Make sure you do deep conditioning at least every 10 days. Do not make the mistake of combing your curls when they are wet. Instead, wait till the hair is damp and then use a wide toothed comb to get rid of the tangles. At the same time, make sure you do not brush curly hair when it is dry. That will create static electricity, thus will make hair frizzier.

Trim the ends every two months. That will keep away the split ends.

Do not let your hair grow too long. Curls are not that easy to handle, so unless you can take care of the curls, keep the hair at a medium length.

One good way of keeping the curls nice is to apply wet gel. That will give a wet look to your hair and the curls will not look like dread locks.
