Dry skin–Combating That Winter Itch

Dry skin–Combating That Winter ItchEach year winter seems to creep up on us before we know it. The next thing you know, your skin won’t stop itching no matter what you do and you lose those soft kissable lips. You can fight the cold weather and kick it in the butt. All you need to do is follow a few simple guidelines.

There cannot be enough said about moisture. Your skin craves this in order to stay soft and smooth. It also needs this to keep the itch away. Investing in a good moisturizing lotion is the best thing that you can do for your skin in the winter months. This will provide you with a force shield against the elements and help you to retain water in your skin.

One of the worst things that you can do in the winter time is to take a hot shower or to soak in the tub. We all know how great it is to take that hot bubble bath after we have been outside in the snow but your skin will not thank you for it. The hot water will reduce your skin’s barrier of oils and let the moisture out. If you feel the need to take a bath, be sure to moisturize heavily when you get out. Be sure that your skin is still moist when you do this to lock it in.

For your hands, keep a travel size lotion in your bag wherever you go. This way you can make sure that you keep your hands moisturized at all times. This will keep them looking young and graceful. Don’t forget about your lips. Keep them moisturized as well in order to prevent them from getting chapped.

Remember ladies, even though we need to take special care of ourselves all year long, the winter can be one of the most difficult times of season for us. The elements are against us so we need to fight back with everything that is made available to us. Keep plenty of moisturizing lotion on your dresser and a travel size in your bag.
