Kill Fleas At Home
Prepare A Flea Killer
This may sound murderous but you can prepare a flee killer at home. You will need 4 oz warm water, a pinch of salt, half a teaspoon of baking soda and 8 oz of apple cider vinegar. Mix all the dry ingredient first and then slowly add vinegar. Baking soda reacts with vinegar, so be a bit careful when mixing. This can be used for killing fleas effectively.
Keep Yard Clean
For killing fleas in your yard you have to keep it clean. Remove all fallen leaves and organic items like grass clippings from your yard. Mow the lawn and then spray the fleas killer.
If you do not clean the yard before spraying the fleas will hide inside places like dog houses, bushes and partially shaded areas. Keeping the yard clean will ensure that existing fleas are killed and no new fleas are born.
Use Natural Predators
You will need to purchase beneficial nematodes from your local pet shop or any other store which sells organic lawn care items. These nematodes feed on flea larvae which means once you have killed the existing fleas, new generation of these fleas will not come again. Also, the best part is these nematodes are not harmful for your pets.
Use Vacuum Cleaner Thoroughly
You will have to clean the floors of your home thoroughly which includes the carpeted area too. Use vacuum cleaner over all rugs, upholstery and carpets. Vacuuming helps in sucking fleas, larvae as well as eggs.
You need to get as many as you can from the cocoons actually helps in killing them completely, since insecticides do not kill fleas in their pupa stage. When you are vacuuming you have a greater chance of killing a larger number of fleas.
Use Citrus Fruits On Your Pets Fur
Use fresh citrus juice, preferably of lemons or orange on the fur of your pet. You can gently rub the rind on its fur. Your pet will be happy and will love the taste when it licks the juices on its fur. A great way to make your pet happy and kill fleas at once.
Salt And Baking Soda
Mix salt and baking soda well. Use a broom to push this mixture in every possible corner where you know fleas can dwell. They will be killed in no time. So, use any of the above home remedies to kill fleas and prevent them from coming back again and again.
