This is because fish oil contains the essential fatty acid Omega-3, and therefore, if it is in your regular diet, it can do a world of good for your heart.

When you consume fish oil to prevent cardiovascular diseases, it can also bring in a lot of benefits, including improvement in your heart rhythms and heart rate, reduction of blood clotting and inflammation. Keep yourself updated about these essential fatty acids to derive the best from them.

Cardiac arrests the world over are leading to a number of deaths, which may be due to uninhibited heart rhythms. This electrical action in the body can be altered by fish oil and fatty acids like Omega-3, which help to bring back the rhythm of the heart and ensure that cardiac arrest doesn’t happen.

Apart from correcting the heart rhythm, fish oil can also prevent a number of   cardiovascular diseases by regulating the heart rate. Heart rate refers to the number of beats per minute in the heart, while resting. A fit person has lower heart rates compared to an overweight person. 60 to 80 beats a minute are considered normal, but give an allowance for increasing age. The heart rate can be brought down through fish oil and Omega-3 fatty acids in your diet.

While clotting of blood is necessary to heal injuries after, say, an accident or a surgical operation, excessive clotting can be risky as it can prevent blood from flowing properly in the arteries, resulting in clotting of the blood vessels, which may cause failure of the important organs in your body.

Fatty acids, like Omega-3 in red blood cells can reduce blood platelets from clustering, making it easy for the blood to pass in the arteries through narrow blood vessels.

The allowed quantity of EFAs to prevent disproportionate blood clotting would be about 10 grams a day. Above all, EFAs are extremely useful in forming a quelling inflammation in the blood vessels.

A greater inflammation of the blood vessels may result in complicated heart conditions. Prevention of this condition through EFAs is better than a cure.
