When the time gets closer for you to bring a baby into this world, it is a good idea to be prepared ahead of time. You should have your bag packed so that you are not fumbling around trying to think of what you will need while you have your stay at the hospital.

Make sure if you are breastfeeding to pack a few pairs of front fastening clothes. When feeding the baby, this will make the job a lot easier than trying to wriggle your way out of a pajama top.

More than one pair of underwear is a must. You will have some bleeding after the birth so you will be using a lot of feminine protection. Staying fresh and clean will make you feel so much better.

You will also want to have something that you can wear in case you are up to visitors or feel like walking around the hospital. The gown that they give you leaves a lot of open air on the back side. Grab a night gown or something comfortable that you like to wear.

Bring some nursing bras with you for the breastfeeding. Also, don’t forget the breast pads. Your breasts will leak and these will help to keep you dry and comfortable. Make sure that they are breathable.

The hospital may ask you to bring a towel with you and if they don’t, pack one just in case. Grab your brush and comb and if you have long hair you may want to pack a scrunchie or two. Your hair will probably be your least priority and this way you can just put it up and out of the way.

You may want to bring a book or some magazines to read and if you have an older one running around, buy something for them that is from the new brother or sister. This way, it will help to ease them into their new family member. Don’t forget to bring your going home outfit. Pick something nice to welcome your baby to your neighbors and friends when you arrive.
