The following are some of the brews that one can make at home and apply on your hair for superior results.

The extract of half of a lemon along with a cup of cold water, when applied to wet hair gives a lovely sheen for all hair types.

The paste made from a whole cucumber can be applied to towel dried hair. This paste needs to soak up for about 10 minutes and can be rinsed out with cold water. It ensures that the hair remains non-greasy.

A rinse can be made of a large stalk of eucalyptus boiled in 2 cups of water. Once cooled, this water can be used for the final rinse and this will keep your hair smooth, silky, and shiny.

Herbs such as rosemary and thyme can be used to prepare a brew that help in leaving you hair healthy and dandruff free. The method of preparation is the same. Four tablespoons of either herb has to be boiled with two cups of water and allowed to cool. Each of these is used for the final rinse. The rosemary rinse will bring life to dull hair while the thyme rinse gets rid of dandruff.

A tablespoon of crushed fenugreek seeds in combination with a tablespoon of tea leaves and the juice of half a lemon can be boiled with water for 10 minutes. This brew when cooled and used nourishes the hair and makes it healthy.

Even apple juice mixed with equal quantity of malt vinegar when applied to the hair give an auburn tint to light hair or graying hair.
