Hair Care Tips

Hair Care TipsWhy is it that the billboards and the television screen in front of your face only have the beautiful people on them? Okay, maybe that’s not really true but it is how it feels most times, isn’t it? Well the fact of the matter is that the whole world is obsessed with outward appearances.

Don’t believe me? What, do you live in a hole? Every where you look there are super model types, both guys and gals, sucking up the posters, billboards and television screens.

Of course we all know that we can’t all be that super model or that guy who gets to do the under wear advertisements, but there are a lot of ways that we can feel like we could do them if we were at the right place at the right time.

So here are just a few ways to feel better about that outward appearance and gain your confidence on the inside.

Start with your hair. Make the goal to have soft, shiny hair. Turn the temperature down! Heat will destroy the natural oils that your hair produces. Look at your son or daughters hair after a shower or bath. Their water is probably not near as hot as yours would be. Think about it. You don’t need those expensive salon shampoos and conditioners nearly as bad as some common sense. So turn the temperature down and the volume and shine will show up in your hair.

By the way it is important to note here that conditioners are not meant to be slapped on and immediately rinsed out! Leave it on. Let it do its job. Five minutes is not too long to allow your hair to absorb the cream rinse. And rinse the very ends in cooler water. They will really shine then.

When it comes to drying your hair, don’t take it to war. By that I mean rubbing it half to death with a towel. This will do terrible damage. Blot it and towel it for a few minutes then try and let it dry with very little use of a blow dryer. If you must use a dryer, use a cooler setting.

Another note here is that hair straighteners and curling units use heat as well and should be used wisely so that constant heat damage is not an issue. Heat activated conditioners work well with these items as the heat actually helps in theses cases.
