Homemade face masks-Create your own face masks
Almost everybody advises that having a facial is great thing to do for your face, however nobody takes into account the costs involved. Going to salons for facials regularly can be quite impossible with the amount of time and money required.
However, you do not need to worry here. You can make a facial from just about anything from your kitchen. This way your beauty will not cost you a fortune. You can use some ingredients available easily in your home, mix them up and give yourself a facial. It is easy, inexpensive and it does not even take up so much of your time. The best thing is that it can be done in the comfort of your own home at the time that suits you.
Egg mask
This is for normal, or combination skin and oily skin. Take one egg white, half cup cooked instant oatmeal, a teaspoon of olive oil and a few drops of lemon juice and mix them until smooth. Apply it to your face and neck and leave for 15-30 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm water. It is good for removing blackheads and tightening your skin.
Honey Mask
Honey is great for skin. Apply a cloth placed in warm water to your face so that your pores will open. Then apply honey and leave for 15-30 minutes. Then rinse it off and do it once a week.
Egyptian mask
Mix a little egg, milk, olive oil and you have the secret of the Egyptians’ beauty.
Grape cleanser
Rub the flesh of split grapes over the face and neck. Rinse with cool water and massage into the face and neck. Leave for 15 minutes and then rinse it off.
Dry skin mask
A teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of water will soothe your dry skin.
Moisturising mask
Banana and white cosmetic clay blend to make a nice moisturising mask. For normal skin, you can mix a cup of yogurt, a tablespoon of orange juice, lemon juice and apply it on your face. Leave it for 20 minutes before cleaning it.
To moisturise dry skin, mix oatmeal and honey and instead of eating it apply it on your face.
Banana avocado mask
You will need half an over ripe banana, half an over ripe avocado, 2 tbsp unflavored full fat yogurt and a tsp of olive oil. Mash the fruits and mix the ingredients well. Apply to face and neck. Let it dry for 20-30 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
For dark circles around eyes
Grate a raw potato and wrap it in a cheese cloth to apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Wipe off any residue and finish with eye cream.
Strawberry mask
If you have a sensitive skin, then you will need to try this one first on a small patch of skin. You will need four or five very ripe strawberries, 2 tsp heavy cream and a teaspoon of honey. Clean and dry the strawberries. Mash them and mix them with the cream and honey. Apply it and leave for 20 minutes before washing.
