You can get different treatment options for your hair in stores. However, you can also use some simple kitchen remedies to keep your hair healthy.
You should remember that the masks given here are homemade and vary differently as far as results are concerned. You should always first try a little bit of the mask on a small section and see how it works.
Mediterranean Hair Mask
This involves only a teaspoon of olive oil. Simply massage it into the scalp for about 2-3 minutes followed by brushing the hair.
Then wrap a towel around for half an hour and wash it off with shampoo.
Fruit Hair Mask
Mix half a banana, avocado and little bit of cantaloupe or other melon. Blend the mixture thoroughly with a few tablespoons of plain unflavoured yogurt into a smooth mixture. Now apply it evenly through the hair. Leave it in the hair for 10-15 minutes and then rinse hair thoroughly.
The citric acid in fruits adds shine to hair and antioxidants detoxify your hair. However, if you have light coloured hair, then avoid staining fruits like berries or grapes.
Add a drop of golden sun
When you are planning to go outside, slick your hair back into a ponytail and coat it with a leave-in conditioner. Apply a light coat over your entire head. Your hair will look amazingly sun-kissed only after half an hour in the sun.
Make waves
After a dip on a hot day, braid your hair into one or several braids. This will leave beautiful braids when they dry out.
Salad for your hair
Rinse your hair with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a quart of water when you shower. The vinegar works well to prevent any flaking.
Two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of mayonnaise make a great conditioner. Apply on dry hair, particularly on the dry ends. Rinse with warm water after leaving in for about 20 minutes.
Deep cleansing shampoo
Whip the contents of a green tea bag and two tablespoons of olive oil, with the juice of half a lemon and half an orange in a blender. Massage it into the hair and leave it in for 15 minutes before washing it off.
Some useful tips
Mix equal parts of brewed tea and hair conditioner and apply once or twice a week to boost shine. Using a flavour close to your hair colour works well.
Applying a cup of water steeped in a nettle teabag after shampooing and conditioning your hair will add volume to your hair.
Mix honey with water and apply post washing and conditioning to soften your hair and add shine to it.
Take two tablespoons of dried thyme and boil it in a cup of water. Cool, strain and wet your hair with that water. Leave it in for treating dandruff.
