Prep Your Eyes
The first step is to apply a primer all over your eyelid. You can use your fingers or a brush to apply the primer. An eyeshadow primer helps the eye makeup to last all day long. Make sure that you cover the entire lid with the primer as well as the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes.
Apply Light Eyeshadow
Next apply a light eyeshadow shade such as light brown, beige or champagne all over the lid. Keep in mind that you need to choose a lighter eyeshadow color to apply on the entire lid.
Apply Medium Eyeshadow Shade
Once you have covered the lid with a light eyeshadow, apply a dark eye shadow color such as taupe or copper to the outer corner and a small section of inner half of the crease. Use a pencil brush to apply color on the crease. With the help of the pencil brush, apply the same eye shadow to the outer portion of the lower lash line too. This will help to soften the look and also give definition to the eyes.
Apply Darkest Eyeshadow Color
The next step is to apply a dark shade on the outer corner of the eyes. A dark brown or dark copper shade works well. Blend the eyeshadow with a round brush with soft, circular strokes. It is important that you blend the colors well, or your makeup will end up looking too harsh. With a thin brush apply this darkest shade on your top lashline.
Use A Highlighter
Apply a highlighter, (which is the lightest shade with a bit of shimmer in it) on the inner corners of the eyes, over the brow bone and the middle of the lid. Using a highlighter makes the eyes pop and also makes them look bigger and more well-defined.
