How To Cure Snoring Through Natural Process?
Snoring is a common problem faced by many people. Whatever be the causes, snoring is irritating for the spouse, children, friends or relatives who sleep along with the snorer.
When the snorer travels, it is more irritating for the co-traveler. Researchers attribute the problem of snoring to anatomy problem. They say the soft tissue at the back of the throat vibrates while the person breathes, when in a state of rest.
This vibration is caused because while the person is resting, the tissue also rests and narrows down and in the process it slightly narrows down the air passage. This narrowing of the air passage causes the tissue to vibrate. This vibration causes sound and that is snoring.
How to stop snoring?
Experts say that there are no oral medicines for curing snoring. Surgical methods are there but these should be used only in extreme cases because of possible post operative complications. So the best remedy is the natural methods which greatly help to reduce snoring and reduce problem to those who sleep in the company of the snorer. Here are the remedies:
Change sleeping position:
As said earlier, slight contraction of the air passage is the main cause for snoring. In many cases, by changing the sleeping position, the passage gets widened allowing free movement of air. Thus, the vibration of the tissue stops and the person will not snore.
Stop Alcohol:
Alcohol increases the resting of throat muscles too much and this causes snoring. This is true of some medicines like sleeping tablets. These tables increase the relaxation of the muscles as also of the tissues and this is yet another reason for snoring.
Obesity is another reason for snoring. In case of those who are obese, muscles grow around the neck and this contracts the air passage. The contraction of air passage restricts the flow of air and the result is snoring.
Apart from other health hazards of smoking, it also increases mucus level in the nasal region and the throat. The mucus causes impediments in the easy flow of air resulting in the snoring.
Exercises:
There are some exercises which help easy flow of air. One of the exercises is to keep the tongue out and holding it as stiff as possible for some time. The other exercise is opening the mouth as wide as possible and then slowly breathing in and out. There are many such simple exercises which help to reduce snoring. Yoga also has many exercises to cure this troublesome disease.
