What is Wart?

Wart is just a growth on the skin. Generally, it is painless. But, if the Wart is located on the sensitive parts of the body, then it could be painful.

Some times it may also cause bleeding, itching, etc. In such a situation, it would require immediate medical attention to prevent infection.

Causes:

It is a viral infection normally affecting the hands. Flat warts affect the forehead and the face. They are common amongst children. They are rare among adults. There are different types of warts like flat wart, subungal wart, plantar wart, etc.

Home Remedies

There are many over the counter medicines to tackle warts. But these medicines are not effective, in the sense they do not cure warts permanently. Further, some of these medicines could also cause allergy.

Therefore, the best remedy would be to remove them once and for all. Even in this process, there are different methods to get rid of warts. One of the well known methods is surgery. The other simple method would be freezing or Cryotherapy. In fact. this is one of the popular methods now in use.

There are over the counter medicines which help to remove warts by freezing. The freezing can be done by the patient himself or if need be, he can take the help of a doctor. While removing, one should ensure that the wart is removed completely without any scar.

Further, after removing, it normally takes about one or two weeks for the portion to completely heal. Some will experience pain after removing the Wart. After the wart is removed, in some cases, the affected portion can also get infected.

There are some natural methods which are harmless and are effective in removing warts.  There is also a suggestion from some quarter, that even a duct tape should be able to remove the wart. Of course this is not a proper and safe way because this may lead to infection of the affected part. The method to be adopted for removing the wart is left to the decision of the individual.

One should follow a safe method. The safe method would be to consult the doctor, take his advice and then decide the method to be adopted to get rid of this disease permanently.
