Today, Waterproof mascara is one of the most essential products in the makeup kits of most women. By using waterproof mascara, you don’t need to worry about the effect of swimming, sweating or crying on your look. However, it can be extremely difficult to remove waterproof mascara if you are not aware of the right technique to remove it, both from your face as well as your clothes if you accidently spill it.
There are a number of methods that can be used for removing waterproof mascara, ranging from natural ingredients to professional makeup removers. Here are some of the most effective techniques for removing waterproof mascara from your face and clothes.
How to Remove Waterproof Mascara from Your Face and Clothes
Olive oil is one of the most effective and natural methods of removing waterproof mascara from your face. To use this technique, simple rinse your face with soap and water as usual, giving more attention to the eyelids. After this, dab a cotton ball with a little amount of olive oil and gently wipe off your eyelashes with it till the entire waterproof mascara comes off. After this, wash your face again and moisturize as usual.
Petroleum jelly has also been found to be quite effective as well as an economical way of removing waterproof mascara from your eyelashes as well as your clothes. To use this technique, coat your eyelashes with petroleum jelly with the help of a Q-tip or your fingers. While doing this, make sure to reach the bottom lashes as well and then roll them carefully till they are properly coated with the jelly.
Let it remain on the lashes for about 5 minutes, then dip a cotton ball in warm water and wipe off the waterproof mascara along with the petroleum jelly from your lashes gently. It is very important to remove all the jelly from the lashes otherwise the next application of the mascara would become quite difficult.
Coconut oil is another great remedy for effectively removing waterproof mascara from your lashes without the need to apply too much effort. When using this option for removing your mascara, dab a cotton ball in coconut oil and sweep it across the eyes. After this, hold the cotton ball over the eyelashes for at least 30 seconds in order to give the coconut oil enough time to break the waterproof mascara down. Once all the mascara has been removed, wash you face using warm water.
Removing Mascara from Your Clothes
If you accidentally spill some waterproof mascara on your clothes, you need to follow some special instructions as your usual soap would not be of any use. To remove waterproof mascara from your clothes, apply liquid stain remover on the mascara, sponge it and then let it dry. After this, prepare a solution of ¾ cups of cold water and 1/3 ammonia. Apply it over the mascara stain and remove the mascara by scrubbing. Rinse it off and then wash in your laundry as usual.
The above mentioned tips and techniques can be used for removing waterproof mascara effectively and safely from your face and clothes.
