Here it should be mentioned that the massage that will help you to get rid of the stress might not be as effective in healing muscle pain. So you have to know what massage to go for.

So how does a massage therapy work? How does it affect the muscles of the body? You would be surprised to know that massage has two different affects on a muscle. The affects are chemical and mechanical.

The mechanical affect is that it increases the blood flow in the body and it helps to stretch and kindle the cells. At the same time massage also helps to break down the scar tissue. Once the scar tissue is broken, the muscle elongates the muscles. And the end result is that the muscle can perform better and more.

Now comes the chemical affect. Massage helps to release endorphins. This decreases pain and at the same time increases a feeling of being fit and fine.

One of the benefits of massage is that since it increases the blood flow, it also increases the oxygen level in the body. The muscles become more relaxed and your nerves become calm.

Now the thing is that massage can serve in two different ways. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, then you can walk into any good spa and get a massage. You can opt for hot stone massage, Swedish massage, the yoga therapy and what not. Here it should also be mentioned that massage is also beneficial for skin as well. Since different types of essential oils are used, they nourish the skin, makes it smooth and supple.

If you are looking for something bit different, that is you wish your muscles to be more flexible, then the best thing to do is go for a sports massage. Even though sports people and athletes go for this massage, but it is applicable for anyone.

For better result it is better to go for both the massages. In this way your body will be more flexible and your nerves calm.
