nail-polishNails  are designed to give us manoeuvrability with small items, as well as to protect the tender flesh of the fingertips. Growing out from the nail bed, which has a living flesh centre at the nail base, the actual nail is dead tissue with achieves roughly one-eighth of an inch in growth each month. It takes six months for a complete nail to grow. The cells turn into keratin as they push up.

Essentials for Nails

Two tablespoons of gelatine powder mixed with fruit juice or milk is to be drunk every morning. Brittle or splitting nails are certain to be cured. Soak hands in honey and orange for ten minutes to soften them. Apply hand cream after patting dry. Stains on fingers and nails can be eliminated with lemon juice applied for about 15 – 20 minutes.

While being a whitening agent, lemon dries, so wash with warm water and apply a rich cream for moisturizing after patting hands dry.  To strengthen teeth, nails and bones, three capsules of calcium lactate can be taken with warm milk daily. Rose water and glycerine of equal quantities should be rubbed into hands to repair detergent and soap damage.

Your fingers should be flexed up and down around 15-20 times a day to exercise them, as you would with other parts of your body. Pull fingers gently one by one to help circulation.

Note

1. Very hot water dries skin and nails, so avoid.

2. Never use sharp metal items to clean under nails and do not ever cut cuticles.

3. Make sure your nail brush is not hard.

4. Do not use frosted nail polish if your nails are brittle.

5. Ensure you have a balanced daily diet which includes Vitamin B and E, amino acids, calcium, phosphorous and sulphur, which is contained in milk products, vegetables, fruit and whole grains.
