Top Natural Cure For Fleas
Wash Your Pets Bedding
All items that come in contact with your pet be it its bedding or rug or any cloth that your pet comes in contact with regularly should be washed very well. It is best to put all these pieces of cloth into the washing machine as the hot dryer kills the flea and its eggs in the whole duration of the wash. Do this every week to not only eradicate all the present fleas but also ensure that you are never bothered with the problem of fleas ever again.
Vacuum in areas which are humid and cold and do not receive enough sunlight regularly. Fleas love to dwell in such places. Also vacuum places which may be home for the flea debris and also all kinds of upholstered furniture. Sprinkle a little bit of salt on your carpets and work them in with the help of a broomstick.
Let them remain there for 2 to 3 hours. The salt will dry out the flea eggs inside the carpet and they will get easily absorbed into the vacuum cleaner.
Keep Your Surroundings Clean
It is important to not only keep your home but also your surroundings like the lawn, verandah, garage and other such areas absolutely clean. Trim the extra weeds and expose all the areas to enough sunlight. Also keep your pets away from those spots which are dark and moist as fleas love these areas and dwell in them most of the times. Clean all dirty areas and remove unwanted things from home.
Bathe Your Pet
Use a mild shampoo and bathe your pet well. Wash his whole body and ensure that you scrub with a good scrubber. The fleas will come off from the pet’s body and start floating in the water if they are too many in number.
Dry your pet and use a flea comb that is specially designed to remove fleas from your pet’s body. Use it over pet’s whole body twice to ensure that no fleas remain.
Take some fresh rosemary leaves which you can find at any naturopath’s clinic. Add enough water and boil for around 40 minutes. Strain and do away with the leaves. Mix this mixture with 10 cups of water and pour it completely over your pet. Let your pet dry it instead of rinsing it off.
Pour around 3 to 4 drops of eucalyptus oil on your pet’s collar once in 10 days to keep fleas away from the body and kill the existing ones. You can also use tea tree or lavender oil instead of eucalyptus oil.
