Skin Toners And Their Uses
What is Skin Toner?
The pores of the skin need to be tightened so the Skin Toner is used to close the pores after cleaning the skin of the face. Unfortuantely, many toners that can be bought over the counter have really harsh agents that can make the skin dry out.
The last thing you want is to make dry skin even dryer making it feel really tight and uncomfortable. To make your own skin toner is not difficult and is well worth the time to avoid damage to your skin.
Petitgrain for dry skin and Orange Flower Blossom Toner
Petitgrain has a woody aroma while the sweet smell of the orange flower blossom makes this a very pleasant application and is really best for a sensitive and a dry face skin.
To prepare this homemade toner, you will need vodka (1 tbsp. High proof), and 2 drops each of petitgrain, chamonile , neroli, palmarosa, plus witch hazel (2 tbsp) and the flower water of linden (1 cup).
Into a clean large and dry glass bottle pour the vodka. If you have a spray bottle to use it will work easier. The list of oils need to be added to the vodka and mixed really well (shake hard so the oil will dissolve), you can add the witch hazel and again mix together.
Finally add the flower (linden) water and mix vigorously until all the ingredients are blended completely. It will separate again over time so just shake it before use. Your toner is ready.
Another Toner that is for Oil Skin is Fresh and Fruity
In the morning there is nothing quite as lovely as the fresh and fruity skin toner. This is great toner for young people and especially for individuals who have very oil skins but is really a good choice for any type of skin. The skin will be left not only feeling refreshed but feeling really clean.
You will need to use vodka (high proof – 1 tbsp.), witch hazel (2 tbsp.), flower water (orange – 1 cup), and 2 drops each of lemon, neroli, orange, and grapefruit. Using a large glass clean and dried bottle (spray type is easiest), pour the vodka into the container and add the oils being sure to mix them really well so the oils will all dissolve.
Now you can add the witch hazel mixing this well and then the water (orange flower) and also mix it well. Once all the ingredients are blended completely, the toner is ready for use. After it sets for a period of time you will need to shake the bottle before use.
