Things To Avoid During Pregnancy
Doctors say that during pregnancy if the woman takes care of her health, then she will deliver a healthy child and after delivery, she continues to be healthy.
To achieve this, the pregnant should follow a strict regimen on her food and habits. Lot could be said about what food she should eat or should not eat, what exercise she should or should not do etc. Discussed here are some very important aspects of her diet habits:
What will happen if she does not refrain from taking certain foods?
The pregnant woman should know the answer to this question. Some of the foods, which otherwise she normally takes, if taken during pregnancy, would cause serious harm to the fetus. It may result in premature delivery, birth defects, improper supply of oxygen to the child etc. It may also affect the general health of the pregnant herself.
Here are some of the food and drinks that a pregnant should keep away:
1. Alcohol: People normally take alcohol only with an aim of relieving their strain and for social experience. Except this, there are no other benefits of alcohol to the human body; that too when it is taken in limited quantity. In the case of a pregnant, even this minimum quantity would be harmful, not only to the fetus but also to the woman herself. The pregnant should totally stop taking alcohol. There is nothing like ‘safe limit of alcohol’ for a pregnant woman.
2. Caffeine: People are so addicted to Caffeine, that the moment they get up in the morning, they need this invigorating drink to start the day. This invigorating cup would be harmful to the baby in the womb. Although, some say about 300 ml caffeine a day is the safe upper limit, it is in the interest of the fetus that the ‘would be mother’ stops taking this altogether.
3. Smoking: When you are pregnant, there is an emphatic ‘DO NOT SMOKE’ by all the doctors. It is so dangerous that tobacco will harm the health of the mother and that of the fetus. Smoking could even kill the child in the womb. In addition, it will harm the health of the mother.
Therefore, pregnant should keep away from smoking. Another word of caution, she must also not be a passive smoker. Hence, she must keep away from the company of smokers, because the smoke she inhales could cause even more dangerous health problems to the child.
