Scars and blemishes can be embarrassing, especially if they are dark in color, poked or raised. Whether you’re going on your first date, getting ready to attend some wedding or dressing up to have your picture taken, using a concealer can give you a perfect cover girl look.

The concealer does not only offer a better coverage than regular foundation, it also improves your appearance and covers up the unwanted dark spots and under-eye dark circles. The concealer can flawlessly smoothen out your complexion and provide you a base that is perfect for any kind of makeup.

A concealer is less transparent than a regular foundation. This means that using a concealer can easily cover up larger and darker blemishes which is otherwise impossible without using multiple layers of foundation.

A single layer of concealer can easily hide the unwanted spots, blemishes and scars. Moreover, with help of a concealer, you can get the best coverage that is possible without looking unnatural. All you need to do is look for a concealer that suits your skin color and needs.

Tips To Use A Concealer

It may or may not be necessary to use concealer on daily basis but application of concealer is recommended even if you’re applying a light makeup. Here are some tips that can help you hide your skin flaws and bring the best out of you.

Start by washing and drying your skin. If possible, use an antibacterial cleanser. An antibacterial cleanser will not only remove the microbes from your face, it will also do away with excess oil and dirt.

After washing your face and towel drying it, use the oil-free moisturizer and rub it on and around your skin. This step is very important if your skin is dry and prone to flaking. Moisturizing the skin will also help the makeup blend more effectively and give you a natural look.

The next step involves application of a green concealer. Use the green concealer over the acne or scars that have a reddish tone. In case your scars look purple, use a yellow concealer instead of the green concealer.

When you’re applying the concealer, dab a small amount of it onto your scar and leave it untouched for a minute. Now use your fingers and blend it properly on your face.

Make sure that you’re not using too much of concealer. Your skin may need a few minutes to set the concealer. After a few minutes, apply foundation as you normally do. Make sure that you don’t rub your face too much as it may wipe off the concealer that you have applied before. You can give a finishing look by using a pressed or lose translucent powder. Use a large brush to apply the translucent powder.

To apply the translucent powder, just dip the brush into the powder, tap off the excess powder and then lightly dust the translucent powder on the face. The powder will not only set the concealer, it will also prevent the concealer and foundation to smudge with the makeup.
