Wine Room Decor
One of the best places to relax at home is the wine room, if it is decorated nicely. The delicious wine smell in a well-decorated wine room will remove your headaches very quickly.
If you invest a lot of money in your wine cellar decoration this will help in your having a class wine collection. You can refurbish your wine cellar walls, floors, lighting etc. in such a way that your cellar will reflect your taste and will look classic.
Walls Décor
The most important thing in the walls of a wine cellar is their dryness. You must ensure that the walls are totally dry and the cellar should not contain any dampness or moisture. This means that you must paint the walls with a paint which is moisture resistant. The paint chosen should be tints of yellow, orange, cream etc. The ceiling should be painted using lighter shades like cream or off-white. Always use lighter hues of the paint on the wall.
Lighting Décor
It is essential that you find a balance between the quality of lighting and its functional aspects. It is better to have soft lighting in a wine cellar. If the lighting is harsh, it will result in heat as well as ultra-violet ray production and this might harm your wine collection; on the other hand, if the lighting is poor it may not be possible to read what is written on the labels, thereby causing eye strain.
Dimmers can be used to vary the intensity of lighting to suit your requirement. You could use sconces for diffused lighting in the cellar; alternately, using a chandelier will result in a royal feeling in addition to providing proper lighting.
Cellar Floors Décor
It is preferable to use wooden flooring for the cellar floor. It is attractive to look at and charming. Add furniture such as rocking chairs, cushions of a light brown or copper color, a couch, coffee tables, etc., and now your cellar is ready for use. You can use stonework or ceramic for the floor. These are functional and give a different look to the cellar.
Signs in a Cellar
Each wine cellar has a sign. This may state simply “Wine Cellar”; alternately, use the name of your favorite wine, carve it on a wooden block and fix it in a prominent location. You can be more imaginative and creative by using wine bottles, grapes etc., for your wine signs.
