Winter Fabric Care
Winter garment care is difficult, especially when you are not much guided for it. By lack of care, you may end up getting your clothes loosen up and the fabric may lose its beauty.
If you are having hard time taking care of your fabric or clothes in winters, you must follow some tips.
The basic thing to do is to read the instructions written for the cloth that you buy. Follow them carefully. If it is mentioned machine wash that wash it in machine and if it says dry clean then do not ever wash it in water. Garment care is essential to have fitted clothes.
To keep the clothes like sweaters and jackets from shrinking or fading away, you must take a good care of them for woolens, it is advised that you get them dry cleaned in every 10 days after use because dirt can cause skin infections if not cleaned up.
Water can cause the wool to swell up when they are washed in water which is why you must get them dry cleaned only. So this rule applies for jackets, woolen scarves, trousers, sweaters, etc. cashmere is also a fabric that requires to be dry cleaned as it is a delicate fabric.
In case you plan to wash your cashmere or woolen clothes, then you must do it carefully. For hand wash, use a very milk and neutral detergent. Unless it is mentioned that you can wash it, do not take risk.
Dissolve the detergent in warm water so that it can cause least harm in the skin and then wash clothes in the water gently. Excess scrubbing of washing is strictly prohibited for such cloth fabric as they can damage the fabric. Also, do not dry it in machine so allow the clothes to dry out in natural sunlight only. Get it ironed in low temperature so that the fabric does not burn.
Take a special care of scarves by dry cleaning them. Since they accumulate dirt and sometimes mucus only, you must get them cleaned properly. It is advisable to not buy expensive scarves.
