In today’s fast pace life, we hardly have time to take care of ourselves. And most of the times it is our hair and skin that has to pay the price for this carelessness.

Here are a few simple tips that will help you to take better care of your hair.

Do not walk into the shower without brushing your hair. Make sure your hair is totally tangle free. This way, when you come out, you will not have knots in your hair. Be gentle while you are at it. Do not brush too hard, that way you will only lose hair more.

Do not put too much of hot water on your scalp. The temperature of the water for your shower or bath should be the same as the room temperature. If the water is too cold for you, it is better that you bend over and rinse your hair with cool water.

The reason why cool water should be applied to the scalp is because cold water helps the scales of hair lie flat and also makes them stronger. On the contrary, hot water opens up the scales and makes hair frizzy. Not just that, warm water washes off the oil that is stored in the scalp.

To get the most from your shampoo, mix a bit of water with the amount you need. That will dilute the shampoo, making it gentle for the scalp. Massage the scalp with that very gently. It is important to start from the scalp as all the dirt accumulates there. At the same time, make sure you do not pile your hair up when you are shampooing. That will only tangle your hair more. Let the shampoo hang down instead.

While you are rinsing you hair, comb your hair with a comb that has wide tooth. That will help to avoid tangle and at the same time, there will be no residue left in your hair. Make sure you rinse thoroughly. If residue remains, that can be harmful for the hair.

Do not just dip your hair in a tub full of water to get rid of the shampoo. Rinse it with running water. Then wrap up the hair with a soft towel and let the hair dry for a while. You are done.
